Attitude of Gratitude

Very recently I realized that I have a well-developed "attitude of gratitude."

The occasion that prompted this realization was thoroughly mundane.  I had simply removed a tissue from the box at my bedside, and then I expressed a silent note of thanks and appreciation when the next tissue popped up to take its place.

I do things like this often, lately, especially when driving.  I'm thankful when the car starts up each time without any weird noise.  I'm thankful when I arrive home safely each time I pull the car in to our driveway.  I'm thankful whenever a traffic light stays green as I approach it.

Also I'm thankful every morning when I wake up and realize that our five awesome pets (four cats and one dog) have let us sleep through the night, despite any boredom or hunger they might feel.  I'm thankful for every watcher, comment and here on DA.  Well, I could go on -- I'm thankful for many things.

You might wonder, how would I react if someone were to do something extraordinarily nice for me, unexpectedly?  Well I'd be ecstatic with joy and love and other good feelings.  And I know that because, for the first time ever in the seven years I've been a member here on DA, some very special deviant bought a premium membership for me!
